El Paseo Western Styling
EONN SKyE INDIO, CA - "He's the best bull rider that ever shit behind a pair of boots,? said Richard Jones, the bullriding promoter speaking of former #1 world champion Mike Gaftner. Gaftner, the former bull-riding title-holder, wore a stylish gray cowboy hat that added a distinguished look to his cowboy shirt and blue jeans ensemble. His manner of standing seemed a world away from fine fashion, but elegant, straight shooting, and athletically clean. The colorful earthy language of bull-riding athletes contrasted with the many charming ladies displaying their finest El Paseo western wear in the VIP lounge. The Eagles justified more than a few of the best and beautiful to come out and play at the Stagecoach music festival. For some, "Life In The Fast Lane? is easily affordable with deep pockets to pay all their speeding tickets with enough left over for a few dirty martinis and a stable of thoroughbred horses. Whether it's Scottsdale, Sedono or Indian Wells, there's a certain prime western style united in a neat package of upper-class "Westernism? that's a huge contrast to the stinky poopie of a big Brahma bull. One lovely desert doyen moved with the elegant grace of a gentle summer breeze. Gold jewelry shimmied as she glided upon sequined pointy toe boots that peeked out from under golden jeans and said hello. Her off the shoulder camisole was a pale natural fabric sporting ruffly sleeves reminiscent of a peasant blouse of old-world Mexico. A delightful toping was the leopard fur cowboy hat that complimented the "turquoise mine? hanging around her neck. She had perfect teeth, every hair in place and not even the whisper of a wrinkle to mar the "fashionista? of western wear. Her look parted the crowd when she faded into the masses as smoothly as driving a Bentley to Sunday church.
